Wah.. I realised that I haven't been blogging for the longest time.. So to make up for it, here are some photo updates..

Let's start with our bridal photoshoot (: Hubbe and I have kept to our firm stand of not choosing over 30 photographs and pay an exorbitant amount of $ for photos that would be kept in the wardrobe after our wedding day.. Hee. *proud*

And if you are hoping to see more photos here than on my FB profile.. Hahaha.. Sorry to disappoint you! :D These are for those who do not have access to my FB profile!

This shot was taken at the former Bidadari Cemetery.. A lot of people thought it was very daring of us to go to such places during the 7th month 鬼节 but we're not superstitious because we're protected by God's blood & angels ;) It's a really good place to take outdoor shots because of the blue blue sky and lush greenery on a hilly surface!

Anyway on a side note, we really ♥ this place! Hubbe accompanied me here for my photography project about 4-5 years back, where the over-towering & small angel statues used to stand (I'm not sure if the graves were still there or exhumed at that time) and it was so beautiful even with the long grasses growing. I'll never forget that experience - not that it was creepy but it was very peaceful and it helps that Hubbe was there to hold my hand along the way ;)

We totally dig this photo! When the time is right, I'll show you all how this gown actually looks like.. Sheer netting with flowers.. Wahahaha.

Hee. It looks a lil modern 上海滩 right...

This was taken at my work place - Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3! This is the escalator going towards B2.. I like this shot because Hubbe looks adorable in it. Hee :D I'm biased can..

And the kissing shot many liked.. *blushes*

110 more days to our wedding.. and many have asked, "How's your wedding preparation so far?"

Let's see..

Choosing THE wedding gown - Checked!

Now that this is done.. It is time for...

The wedding photoshoot - Checked!

Hubbe and I have been "maintaining" ourselves before our photoshoot.. Fruit diet for him, and 1 meal per day for me <-- reason being I was away in Europe for the past week and the meal portions are usually quite huge so I dun feel hungry for dinner :p

And I did my manicure & pedicure the day before the shoot! ;) Very pleased with it. 你看。。。 美不美?

So here's what we did yesterday..

Hubbe and I had a looooooooooooooong day! We started the day bright & cheery at about 10am+, grabbed some Macs brekkie before heading down to White Link. I had my hair and makeup done first and then we rocked and rolled! :p

I had a total of 6 outfits changes - 4 indoor and 2 outdoor outfits :) My 1st outfit is this nude colour dress with flower petals.. Hee :D It's quite a gungho dress because it really sticks to your body and mostly, only the prominent parts are covered.. Hahaha.. So daring right? And I like the hairstyle that went with it.. Got the vintage feel leh, I like ;)

And, the only other gown you'll probably get to see here would be the one Addy loaned me ;) Really appreciate it sweets! I absolutely adore your dress!

Addy & Ken on their wedding day in '07 :)

We used it for our outdoor shoot at the former Bidadari Cemetery.. No you are not seeing things, yes we really went there to take our photos! It turned out to be our FAVOURITE place of all! We really thank God for the wonderful hot sunny day, complete with the clear blue skies.. Did you know it was gloomy & raining the day before and the day after?

And also, special thanks to Weiquan who went to buy the ♥ balloons & delivered it to Potong Pasir for us ;) Appreciate that Bro! He even stayed with us under the hot sun till we're done with the outdoor shoot! 谢谢你!

Hubbe and I both are thankful for the friends in our lives who have selflessly volunteered their help and services to make this wedding a memorable one! God bless you all!

-----------------------------------------------------------

You know how some photographers like to shoot a certain style or a particular human anatomy? Hubbe and I both feel that our photog is going for the couture/fashion look 'cos he keeps telling us not to smile, esp for the studio shoots and I kept having to do the ¾ closed lips. We were like, "Isn't this a wedding photoshoot? Aren't we supposed to look smiley and happy?" :D

And the photog, for one, likes to take my back and derrière areas lor. He keeps going, "小妹妹/Pearlyn,屁股转过来给我拍!" Even Hubbe asked him, “Eh, 为什么你一直要拍她的屁股?” Well, 因为我的屁股好拍嘛。。 Haha, I got these 2 gowns that cut quite low at the back, that's why he wanted to take la..

And Hubbe found it amusing when the photog remarked that I look like this ex-Mediacorp starlet.. Nope, not Ericia Lee whom quite a handful of people commented before.

Oh, did I mention how suave and handsome my Hubbe looked??? 他是帅到。。。。。。。。 I show you I show you!!

Hee.. my Hubbe looks darn good right? And hor.. if you see closely, he's actually so-not-subtly showing off his Ball watch. Hiak hiak hiak. I told Hubbe he can show his boss the pictures then he can be the walking advertisement for his company le :p

It was a breeze doing the shoot, and well I missed being that girl in front of the camera sometimes. Thinking if I should go back to doing some part-time modelling, maybe just print ads.. Hahaha. *bursts own bubble*

-----------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, we're counting down to this Sun where we will be going down to White Link for our photo selection. Hubbe keeps reminding me to stick to the 30 photos budget. Hahahaha..

[info]asthrysia, [info]redblacknwhite and me finally met up for hi-tea on 23 July at Goodwood Park Hotel, 2 days shy of Huan going back to NYC.. and [info]redblacknwhite brought her Canon 500D and so we started snapping away. Took a total of 186 photos in one afternoon! Hee :D

So, here are the photos! It's gonna take a while to load!

Oooh look! I've got a pressie!

[info]asthrysia bought me a pink pen! I <3 it!!!

And she bought us the "Little Miss" books too! She couldn't find "Little Miss Clumsy". Bahh.

Let me show off my pretty girls...

Mooz just cut her babydoll fringe and coloured it blue-black. I like her fringe! Isn't she a doll?

And Little Miss Tiny here is just so girlish adorable! Small but packs a punch!

*pouts*

*smiles* I can't remember what I was saying to Huan in this shot.

The pretty tea pots ;)

We each had a pot of tea to ourselves.. And that's me pouring the tea.

Muahahaha. Getting a bite out of [info]asthrysia!

My lovely girls :)

I like how the DSLR takes soooo much better pictures (DUHHH!).. Power right? Itchy itchy hands, Pearlyn...

Candid shot taken at the walkway before we leave..

We ♥ this group shot :D

Us cam-whoring in the Heeren toilet ;P

And here are some "supermodel" shots that we were suddenly inspired to take ;p Hiak hiak hiak

My personal favourite!

Wahaha I kinda look drugged out in the last 2 pictures hor?

Mooz & me goofing around with some accessories.. and I like this picture a lot!

Me = Not for Sale.

I was texting Hubbe..

And [info]redblacknwhite got interested.. Wahahaha..

Yeah, we're like big kiddos playing on the carousel.. we know!

My dear girls, thanks for the lovely afternoon spent! Keeping fingers crossed for Mooz to return in time for my wedding!! ♥ you girls (Pam too k! We didn't forget about you la! /Sigh. I don't do Perth anymore :/)

Accompanied my all-time Liverpool fan Hubbe to Kallang National Stadium to watch his favourite club in action ;) Compiled a video of all the short videos taken..

Enjoy!

Don't feel like going on my 8 days flight tmr.. Miss Hubbe already! :(

[Edited on 31 July, 9am LAX time]

You know, though I'm not a die-hard Liverpool fan.. I think it's really stupid that the other clubs' fans, in particular Man U's, would pay $88 to turn up at the Liverpool match and get boo-ed by the tens of thousands. And then, only to change into another jersey in the end.. Like this one..

This guy is still smart enough to change out of his Man-U jersey, the one in my video put on the SG jersey over his Man-U jersey.. And it was freaking hot in the afternoon sun lor!!

Whatever. Hahaha.

Our friends, Randy & Kara, are getting hitched this Saturday!! So happy for them!!

And they have this 50s Old Jazz theme for the church wedding and Modern Oriental theme for the banquet..

So, I dug out my 2 short cheongsums from my wardrobe... which one should I wear for the night banquet?

Please pardon the mess behind and the bad angle. Hahaha. My mom took the photos from her lying position on the sofa. ;p

This one has those chinese-style buttons at the sides but and the slits are quite high... Look carefully at the photo!

This one has black lace at the sides (from the pits to the waist - meaning you can see the color of my bra and my tummy bulges if I don't sit straight) and at the bottom..

So they may both look nice but they got their cons too..

I'm so happy I can fit into them again. There was this period of time where I felt so miserable because they were so tight and ill-fitting when I tried them on. It's loose now and hopefully it will stay that way. Hahaha.

Then again, I'm leaving for Hongkong tomorrow.. I should chiong to the shops to see if I can get any qipaos (for their wedding and perhaps my wedding tea-dress!)..

Hubbe is off to reservist training (miss him already!) till 11 July, but thank God I'll get to see him on the 3rd for our HDB appointment. Time will pass quickly, especially from now to the 3rd because I'm called up for a BKK-Narita flight (30June-2Jul)..

Reminder for myself:

1. Meeting Andrew & Sandy for Andrew's farewell dinner later at 7pm
2. HDB 1st appointment on 3 Jul, 1.15pm
3. Wedding photoshoot brought forward to 29 August Saturday
4. To send email to company

That's what I need to remember, for now

Oh look, I tweaked some photos of my friends and linked to their blogs on the right hand side! Do you like it? And for those whom I did not link you, it's not because I don't like you! Hahahaha. Drop me a comment and I'll do it for you.. esp if you have a nice photo of yourself, do send it to me!

Ciao!

Oh I almost forgot to blog about our belated anniversary dinner date! We reached home on Saturday at about 9pm+ after we spent 4 hours at the bridal shop, me trying on more gowns and Hubbe getting his measurements done for his suit.

Talking about the gowns, there are these 2 gowns that I really like.. but I have to make a choice which one I want to "book" for my wedding day. So I spent pretty much 1/2 of the time in those 2 gowns, deciding which feel and look I prefer. But I had to "give up" the original gown I wanted to choose because 2 other brides wanted to try it on after seeing me in it.. :/

Anyway.. that's a different story altogether and we'll talk about that some other time.. So back to our belated dinner date, we had gone to the supermarket earlier on in the morning to get our ingredients. Forgetful me forgot to buy the balsamic vinaigrette dressing that Hubbe wanted for his salad.. Argh.

By the way, I helped in the cooking! I cut onions, mushrooms, opened the cans of pasta sauce and helped to pour heavy whipping cream into the pasta sauce ok! Hahahaha :D

Darling, thank you for attempting to cook me the tomato-and-cream pasta! Thank God it was successful the first time round! It is soooooooooo yummy! Yums yums yums.. ♥ you lots!

The last time I went to Male was in December 2007 and both were 3 days flight pattern, which means I have less than 1 clear day on the beach. Hopefully I get rostered the 5 days pattern next time so I can bring Hubbe along!

Then again, this is also one of our choices for our honeymoon destinations but I'm definitely not staying at the resort our company puts us up with. My team girl recommended me to Kandooma Resort Maldives where she stayed for her holiday.. and I am so in ♥ with her pictures lor..

Our mode of transportation to the resort is damn cool lor. We're all so used to bus/coaches but for this, we take a speedboat ride that spans about 20minutes+. Not really for those who get motion/sea-sickness. It gets really bumpy!!

Anyway... let me bring you to Male!

My colleagues and I stay side-by-side, our rooms are located in a U-shape.

It's a good day to be out soaking up the sun but I have to stay away from tanning because of the wedding photoshoot. Besides, I got so burnt from my last Male trip that I told myself NO more tanning (because of the inconvenience with the peeling skins and uneven skin tones!!

I got momentarily distracted by the hermit crabs on the shore :p

Can you see the tiny crab? This bugger was hopping around like a flea!

A typical relaxing-by-the-beach Male picture

You know, this is the only flight that we are all decked out in shorts & slippers.. because there's sand everywhere!!

Have a nice bright day! Off to meet Hubbe later ;)

Hubbe & I had a special date tonight - he came to pick me up after my KL turnaround flight at about 8.30pm for dinner. We were driving towards ECP for Sushi Tei (it's like a special place to us because we had dinner @ Sushi Tei before he proposed that night) when I changed my mind & decided on frog porridge 田鸡粥 at Geylang because I felt that there was more variety. And my ♥ was only happy to oblige! ;)

We could not celebrate our anniversary on the actual day (17.06.09) because he has a tennis session and most importantly, I got activated for my standby to go to Melbourne tomorrow :( But it's alright because we will be celebrating it on Saturday! Hubbe's gonna cook tomato-and-cream pasta for me. I tell you, this combination is superrrrrrr yummy!!

Anyway.. after our 田鸡粥 dinner, we dropped by Kallang Leisure Park to pick up Ben & Jerry's ice-cream and we got Dublin Mudslide for dessert (hee!). Next, we went to Tanjong Rhu to find OUR spot outside the Indoor Stadium where he proposed 2 years ago. We walked and walked and walked and agar-agar found the spot (We couldn't decide between these 2 particular spots & sat in the middle in the end! Hahaha).

Other couples were like whispering sweet-nothings to each other, hugging or kissing. But we were enjoying our ice-cream, laughing and sucking loudly on our straws ("milkshake" from the melted B&J ice-cream) from our tub. Super anti-climax lor..

But it was nice; it was simple yet special because we look back at the years we've been together and we thank God for seeing us through tough times in our r/s.

My ♥, thank you for being strong in our relationship and not giving up on us. Thank you for teaching me to grow. Thank you for always loving me so much. I ♥ you very very much. Happy 8th year anniversary! I'm so glad we're finally getting married this year and build OUR lives together!

I finally caught Bride Wars after a long, long, long, long, long, long long time. Hah. In fact, I watched Confessions of a Shopaholic before that, but that is another story altogether.

This show tells of 2 best buddies who grew up together, both wanting to get married at The Plaza in June. They originally had their dates set, differently of course... So that they could both have their weddings and be each other's bridesmaid. And there we have it, someone just had to enter the wrong dates into the computer and we have both girls' wedding on the same day.

Both refuse to let each other have the date, 6 Jun. So the sabotaging begins. One sends tons of chocolates & goodies to make the other fat. One swops the tanning color, making the other person look orangey although she asked for a "pre-wedding glow". One gives the other (a lawyer!) blue hair.

/Sigh.

But I think for them to even have their weddings in the same month is already a headache - they can't help each other plan because they would want the best for themselves. What more the same day? They have to get new bridesmaids & even their guests have to make decisions on timings & which wedding to go first.

They were best friends leh. And well, they ended up all the aisle, with hair pulling and gown tearing (gasp!).. And someone ended up not getting married at The Plaza on June 6.

Psst. Both dresses were from Vera Wang, but I prefer Kate Hudson's one more.. Hahaha

I teared at their reconciliation, that they realise their friendship was worth more than anything in the world and all these stupid fights/competition made them so tired. They made up in the end and had their best friend walk down the aisle with her. Awwwwww.

It's a chick flick lah.. but I was eyeing the gowns more. A pity they didn't try on lotsa gowns but only showcased 2 wedding gowns!! Bummer.

Yesterday, Hubbe took 1/2 day leave and we went down to Orchard Road for some shopping. We went to shop at Far East Plaza & I got 2 dresses & 3 shades :) Happy girl. Then I decided to let him choose where he wants to shop next.

We headed to Tangs next; we bought a belt and 2 pairs of shoes (1 pair of black leather Converse for him & 1 pair of Nike shoes for me). Now we have a very happy Andy because he finally got his black Converse (because I hate black shoes, other than working shoes, on him).

Next on our agenda, we headed to Ruth & Adrian's place for dinner :) Yippee.. Get to meet my favourite girl, Charis ♥!

When we reached their house, she just woke up not long ago and took quite a while to warm up to us. She only seemed to recognise Hubbe *boohoohoo* but later she showed me this photo frame thingy I did for her placed by her bedside..

So I asked, "Who is this?" (pointing to Hubbe) and she answered, "Andy." Cute. Then I moved over to my face and asked again, she answered, "Aunty Pearlyn." Wahhh I tell you.. I don't care if she calls me Aunty but she remembers my name!! Hahaha. And I reminded her that Aunty Pearlyn is here in the flesh too! Hahaha. Her mom told me that Charis used to not let anyone touch her photo frame when I just passed it to her. Hee. So cute right?

Hubbe & Charis

I ♥ Charis!!

Doesn't she just melt your ♥??

Charis playing with her puzzles

I fed her dinner, macaroni with chicken & spinach. Oh, look at the spinach! Hahahah :D

Hubbe combing the little girl's hair after her shower ;)

It was also hilarious lor.. Charis called me Mommy twice when I was there! Her own mom was saying, "See la.. Feed her one time, she call you mommy liao!"

Ruth is usually quite strict about not giving Charis sweets but with Hubbe & me, she close one eye most of the time, sometimes even 2! Hahaha :D

Thanks for opening your house to us, Ruth & Adrian ;) Ruth, thanks for cooking for us too! We hope to invite your family to our place soon too and my dear Hubbe will cook for you all! I'll help to wash. Hee.

------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier on just now, Hubbe & I drove down to Giant @ Tampines to do some grocery shopping, and it feels so married-life lor.. Buying drinks, snacks, maggi mee, sanitary napkins etc. Wahahaha. Super late night shopping is good! No queue and you can shop at your own pace ;)

We were on our way back and I 心血来潮 & told Hubbe I want to go see our place at night & how it feels like to "go home". Hahahaha. Boh liao right...

I already 想好了... we can put buffet tables here for housewarming or other events. Heh.
